🌟 The Team
As the Head of Trading Implementation & Operations, you'll lead a new squad under the Trading domain at Flower. Our mission is to optimise the value of our assets (BESS, EV chargers, solar parks, etc.) by engaging in energy markets, covering ancillary services and wholesale electricity markets.

The Trading Operations & Implementation squad, under your guidance, will focus on implementing trading and prediction models, optimising bids on energy markets, instructing assets, managing data, and evaluating performance — with efficiency and innovation at its core.

👩‍💻 About the Role
As the Head of Trading Implementation & Operations, your role is pivotal in shaping Flower's energy trading initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

1. Setting Up and Building the Squad:
   • Spearhead the formation of the Trading Operations & Implementation squad, strategically organising sub-teams for effective execution.
   • Identify and recruit top-tier talent for each role, ensuring a diverse and skilled team.
   • Establish clear roles and responsibilities within the squad, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to innovation and efficiency.
2. Leadership, Development, and Best Practices:
   • Provide inspirational leadership, setting a high standard for excellence in executing trading strategies.
   • Develop and execute comprehensive plans for individual and team growth, aligning with Flower's mission and objectives.
   • Implement best practices for the squad's ways of working, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Foster a collaborative environment within the squad, with other teams, domains, and external stakeholders.
   • Ensure open and transparent communication channels, facilitating feedback loops and iterative improvements.
4. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
   • Encourage a culture of innovation, empowering team members to contribute creative solutions and improvements.
   • Regularly assess and implement enhancements to trading strategies, orchestration, implementation, and technical solution, while keeping abreast of industry trends and technological advancements.
5. Resource Management and Strategic Planning:
   • Effectively allocate resources to meet project deadlines and objectives, identifying and addressing any resource gaps or constraints.
   • Contribute to the strategic planning of the organisation, aligning the goals of the Trading Operations & Implementation squad with the broader objectives of Flower.

🚀 Who You Are
To excel in this role, you have:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams within a rapidly scaling business (prior experience from the energy sector is a plus)
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, addressing communication, performance, and operational challenges effectively.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies, Jira, and best practices in project management.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software and/or data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Strong technical proficiency, especially in Python and AWS, enabling effective guidance and contribution to the team's work.
• Proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, showcasing effective communication and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

While we value office collaboration, we also support remote work. Our office is located at Söder Mälarstrand 21, a few minutes away from the Gamla Stan subway station.
