Do you want to be involved in the development of high-tech products that save lives? We offer you good career opportunities in a high-tech company with strong company values, transparency and personal development.
Background:
We are looking for 1-2 students, with an educational background within software engineering or similar, to write their master thesis regarding LiDAR input in drivable and parking space detection.
Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a method that utilizes continuous data input from a moving LiDAR to determine the LiDAR´s position and create a map of the environment.
One application for short range LiDAR is automatic parking, where the system needs to identify drivable spaces and available parking spots. A SLAM algorithm accumulates several frames of point cloud data, to create better input for identification.
This thesis aims to:
Purpose:
Find SLAM based algorithms for free-space detection and parking space detection. Use available point cloud data to train and verify one model.
Field: LiDAR perception
Number of student(s): 1-2
Student background: Software Engineering skills. 3D graphics skills. Neural Network skills.
Extent: 30 credits (Master)
Start: Spring 2024
Location: Linköping//Stockholm/Skellefteå
