Lead Architect to Modity

As Lead Architect, you will play a central role in shaping the company’s technical direction and ensuring that its systems and IT landscape support long-term business goals. We are looking for an experienced Lead Architect for a one-year assignment. This is an opportunity to combine strategic influence with technical leadership and take overall responsibility for building a scalable, cost-effective and future-ready architecture across Modity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Modity operates in an energy industry undergoing rapid change, where connected data, automation, AI and evolving customer needs are creating new opportunities. To support the company’s continued development, Modity is strengthening its strategic technical capabilities and establishing a clear direction for its future systems and IT landscape.

As Lead Architect, you will own and lead the development of Modity’s overall technical architecture. You will translate business strategy and long-term objectives into architectural principles, roadmaps and technical solutions that can be implemented across the organization.

The role combines enterprise architecture, strategic advisory and technical leadership. You will work closely with senior management, technical specialists and different parts of the business, providing guidance on how technology can support Modity’s overall strategy. You will also be responsible for technical solution proposals within the company’s PMO process and larger strategic projects.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the development of Modity’s overall technical architecture, including the continuous assessment of the existing systems and IT landscape.
• Translate business strategies and long-term objectives into scalable architectural principles, roadmaps and technical solutions.
• Provide strategic advice on how technology, systems and data can strengthen and enable Modity’s overall business strategy.
• Lead the development of technical solution proposals within Modity’s PMO process and larger strategic projects.
• Ensure that architectural decisions balance scalability, cost efficiency, technical quality and long-term business needs.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms and ways of working based on their strategic and operational value.
• Strengthen Modity’s capabilities within system architecture through technical leadership, knowledge sharing and competence development.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a similar field.
• Approximately 5–10 years of experience in technical architecture, enterprise architecture or system design.
• Experience in strategic planning and the development of future systems and IT landscapes.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture, cloud services, data warehousing and data-driven analytics.
• Experience leading technical teams, architectural initiatives or strategic technology programs.
• The ability to translate business strategies and long-term objectives into practical technical solutions and architectural roadmaps.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
• The ability to collaborate effectively across departments, functions and organizational levels.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have

• A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working with technical architecture in a data-intensive or business-critical environment.
• Experience contributing to PMO processes, major transformation initiatives or large strategic technology projects.
