Tech Lead - Bflow

Bflow is the core technology platform within Freedom Group, a fast-growing accounting group building the digital foundation for modern entrepreneurship. Our platform is used daily in real financial decisions by thousands of companies and accounting professionals across Sweden.

Our product is divided into two main areas: Office Support and Accounting. Today, our development team is based in Poland. As we enter a major expansion phase, we are taking the next strategic step by establishing a Swedish development team in Stockholm with responsibility for the Accounting product area. The new team will work closely and collaboratively with our colleagues in Poland, jointly driving the continued development and success of the product.

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead who is driven by the opportunity to shape the future of financial work, build a new engineering team from scratch in Stockholm, and have a real impact on how our platform supports thousands of businesses and accounting professionals across Sweden.

Our platform is built using Python, Django, React, AWS, PostgreSQL, and other modern technologies.

In this role, you combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership. You act as an informal leader for the developers in your team, set technical direction, and ensure that what we build is robust, scalable, and production-ready. You have a helicopter perspective of the software we build and care deeply about quality, maintainability, and long-term architecture.

As Tech Lead, you will play a key role in building and shaping our development presence in Stockholm, while working closely with the existing Tech Lead in Poland, the Product Manager, and the broader Polish team to ensure alignment across product vision, architecture, and development practices. Your role will be both hands-on and strategic, shaping the way the team works while coding alongside your colleagues to deliver a world-class product.

What you´ll do

• Take technical ownership of parts of Bflow Accounting, with focus on automation and intelligent workflows.
• Drive the design and implementation of AI- and rule-based solutions in a regulated, mission-critical domain
• Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and continuous improvement of QA practices.
• Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead for Bflow Office Support on cross-product architecture and shared platform concerns.
• Work closely with product, UX/design, and business stakeholders.
  

To succeed in this role, we think you are used to working in, or even leading, a hands-on team and are comfortable taking responsibility for both technical delivery and team processes. You are a true process-oriented person who cares deeply about quality and value creation for users. You have strong full-stack experience with a focus on backend development, and you are fluent in Swedish to fully understand complex accounting processes.

Your technical experience includes:

• Python/Django and React.
• Working in cloud environments, AWS preferred.
• Experience working in agile teams and setting up agile processes, workflows, and automation with a DevOps mindset.

Nice to have:

• Experience working with automation, AI, ML, or LLM-based solutions.
• Experience in fintech, accounting, or other regulated domains.
• Interest in QA, test strategies, and production reliability.
