Operations Manager - Automation Excellence Centre Nordic

The Automation Excellence Centre Nordic (formerly SwedWeld) in Värnamo, Sweden, is a newly acquired business with a strong focus on designing and producing world-class screw feeders and delivering automation projects across the region. This is an exciting time to become part of our journey as we integrate into Atlas Copco and scale operations to meet growing demand for automation solutions while introducing best-practice processes.

Your role

As Operations Manager for the Automation Excellence Centre Nordic, you will lead the transformation into a Nordic Excellence Centre for automated tightening and screwfeeding applications within Atlas Copco. Your mission is to ensure operational excellence, drive strategic growth, and deliver world-class automation solutions such as Screw Feed Systems and related technologies in close cooperation and collaboration with the Automation Innovation Center in Darmstadt and local Customer Centers.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Lead, coach and develop high-performing team across business development, mechanical design, finance, and production, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational efficiency and quality in all delivered solutions while implementing best-practice processes.
  • Collaborate globally with the Automation Innovation Center and European Customer Centers to optimize our automation portfolio and accelerate regional sales.
  • Own financial performance, including P&L responsibility, cost control, and R&D budgeting, while contributing to global strategic decisions. Play an active and strategic role in the global team, contributing to decision-making and board-level discussions.
  • Support integration into Atlas Copco’s structure, ensuring alignment with policies, branding, and systems.
  • Champion sustainability and safety, promoting inclusion and diversity as a role model.

This position reports to the General Manager Customer Center Nordics and requires frequent travel within Europe.

To succeed, you will need

  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and motivating teams.
  • Track record of driving operational excellence and implementing best-practice processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple large, technically complex projects with precision and efficiency.
  • Experience working in an international matrix organization, with the flexibility to adapt to diverse cultures and ways of working.
  • A university degree in a technical or commercial field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Business knowledge of Motor Vehicle and/or General Industry segments.
  • A strategic mindset with a clear vision and the ability to turn plans into measurable results.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
