About the job

With a passion for life

Join our diverse teams of passionate people and a career that allows you to develop both personally and professionally. At Getinge we exist to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. To make a true difference for our customers – and to save more lives, we need team players, forward thinkers, and game changers.

Are you looking for an inspiring career? You just found it.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in embedded systems for medical interoperability (SDPi/SDC), hands-on experience with Azure Cloud infrastructure, and a proven track record of leading engineering teams. In this hybrid role, you’ll be both a senior individual contributor and the technical lead, helping drive embedded–cloud integration, mentoring developers, and shaping our architecture and connectivity strategy.

You'll join a growing applications team building modern, scalable software for next-generation medical devices. Our work spans from embedded C++ applications and SDPi-compliant communication stacks to Go-based backend services and cloud-native infrastructure on Azure using Kubernetes.

If you're passionate about interoperability standards, building robust, secure, and regulatory-compliant systems from edge to cloud, and you're ready to take on technical leadership responsibilities—we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s a look at the tools and technologies you’ll be working with:

• Languages & Frameworks: C++, Rust, Go (Golang), TypeScript, React, Java

• Interoperability & Standards: SDPi, SDC (IEEE 11073), HL7-FHIR, MQTT

• Cloud Platform: Microsoft Azure (AKS, Event Grid)

• Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Helm, Ansible

• Monitoring & Logging: Prometheus, Grafana

• Version Control: GitLab

We’re constantly evolving our stack to meet new challenges—your input will directly shape our future architecture.

As a technical leader, you will guide a cross-functional development team, driving architectural decisions around embedded systems, SDPi/SDC interoperability, and cloud integration. You’ll contribute hands-on across the stack, ensuring performance, security, and regulatory compliance in a medical context.

Key responsibilities include:

  • DevOps & Security: Champion CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and compliance (e.g., IEC 62304), while ensuring secure, traceable, and maintainable code.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Align closely with frontend (React/TypeScript), QA, clinical experts, and product teams to deliver integrated, high-quality solutions.

To be successful in this position, we believe you should have the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field.

• Embedded/SDPi Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in C++ for embedded systems, and/or deep familiarity with SDPi/SDC stack (e.g., BICEPS, MDIB) for medical device communication.

• Leadership Experience: Prior role as tech lead, team lead, or principal engineer, ideally in cross-disciplinary environments.

• Azure & Cloud: Experience with Azure cloud services and device-to-cloud integration patterns.

• Go Expertise: Professional experience building backend applications in Go.

• DevOps Practices: CI/CD with GitLab, infrastructure automation with Terraform/Helm.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Ability to navigate between device firmware, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure.

You should be comfortable working across disciplines, aligning backend, frontend, and infrastructure needs. A structured yet flexible approach to problem-solving—especially in debugging, system design, and performance—is important. Experience with React/TypeScript, MQTT, SDC (IEEE 11073-20701), SDPi, HL7 FHIR, and healthcare standards like IEC 62304 or ISO 13485 is a plus. Familiarity with GraphQL or REST APIs, Agile teams, and a passion for mentorship and engineering culture are also valuable.

You’ll work on cutting-edge medical software that spans embedded firmware, cloud-native infrastructure, and device interoperability. This is a high-impact role where your decisions will shape our platform architecture and directly influence real-world clinical outcomes.

We offer an environment that values technical ownership, innovation, and cross-functional learning, with opportunities to grow into broader leadership roles in a growing team.

Applications will be reviewed continually, and we therefore recommend sending us your application as soon as possible, but no later than 25.09.01.

We kindly ask you to submit your application in our recruitment system by clicking the “apply now” button. Due to GDPR regulations we do not accept applications via e-mail.

We look forward to receiving your application. We hope you will join us on our journey to become the world’s most desired MedTech company.
