Project Sourcing Manager - Metal & Pipes

About the job

Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.

Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

We’re looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our Metal & Pipes Project Procurement team and strengthen Scania’s drive toward sustainable transport solutions.

Role Summary
You own your parts’ journey in product development projects—from first concept to serial production—for Scania and the wider TRATON Group. As a Project Sourcing Manager, you will:

•    Have the commercial responsibility within development projects for Scania and the TRATON Group.
•    Represent Scania Procurement in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, production, marketing, and external suppliers.
•    Manage and coordinate technical discussions between Scania R&D and suppliers, to ensure technical specifications are met and sourcing remains cost- effective.
•    Work with a global supplier base and set strategies for segments and suppliers, and review technical documentation from a commercial perspective.
•    Work closely with colleagues across the TRATON Group procurement organizations.
•    Lead RFQs and negotiations, and present results and recommendations.

Who You Are
We are seeking someone that has:

•    University degree, preferably in engineering, business, or a related field
•    Experience in procurement or another commercial area
•    Passion for both business and technical development
•    A results-oriented, analytical and flexible mindset, paired with excellent communication skills
•    The ability to manage several assignments in a structured way while supporting colleagues
•    Long-term thinker always looking for improving how we work and supporting colleagues
•    Ability to work independent and drive initiatives
•    Positive attitude and strong team spirit, needed in a fast-paced environment
•    Fluent in English and available for international networking and travel (Swedish and a category B driver’s licence are advantages)

Don’t tick every single box?

If this role excites you and you believe you can add value, we encourage you to apply—mindset and potential matter just as much as a perfect match on paper.
