Scania Heltid Södertälje

Project manager to the team, Projects & Assignments- Test Rig Development

About the job

Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a leading supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to providing complete and sustainable transport solutions. Together with TRATON and our sister brands MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and International, we are working to shape the future of mobility with innovative and environmentally conscious solutions.
Our values – customer first, respect, team spirit, responsibility, and elimination of waste – are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we are at the forefront of creating a sustainable future.

Role Summary

As a Project Manager, you’ll take the lead in managing both Scania-developed and purchased systems and machines. You’ll work closely and collaboratively with our sister teams in mechanical and electrical design, software development, internal customers, and suppliers. Together, we strive toward a shared goal—a world-class delivery that is on time, high in quality, and aligned with agreed costs. The rigs we build and upgrade generate key data that support critical technical decisions and help Scania continue driving the technology shift toward sustainable transport solutions.

The role as Project Manager includes cross-functional collaboration and offers excellent opportunities to build a broad and meaningful network within Scania R&D.

Job Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for turnkey projects and rollout implementations. This includes procuring equipment, services, and installations in close cooperation with our internal customers.

• You take ownership of the financial follow-up, including burn rate tracking, and contribute actively to forecasts and planning.
• You work continuously with and update your time plans, maintaining an open and ongoing dialogue with both your internal customers and the steering group.
• You collaborate around requirement specifications, serving as a key link between internal customers and suppliers to ensure shared understanding and smooth communication.

Who You Are

You are a motivated and curious leader who enjoys both challenges and collaboration. You naturally build strong relationships and value teamwork. You are driven by continuous improvement and are eager to share new insights with your team to help evolve our ways of working.

You likely have a background in engineering, with experience in mechanical engineering and/or technical project management. You’re passionate about learning, open to new perspectives, and thrive in an environment where people and technology meet. You’re involved in the customer’s planning and take ownership of your deliveries as part of a bigger picture.

You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, in speech and writing. Experience in mechanical design work and drawing review is considered a plus.
