CMC Designer (Cell Module Controller)

At Traton, we are leading the shift toward a sustainable transport system. Electrification is at the heart of this transformation. To further strengthen our battery development team, we are now looking for a committed CMC (Cell Module Controller) Designer to join us.

 

Your Role:


As a CMC Designer, you will be responsible for the development and lifecycle management of our high-voltage battery cell module controllers. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, internal BMS teams, and other cross-functional partners to deliver best-in-class battery solutions.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Developing and specifying HV battery CMC components
  • Documentation and contribution to change management processes
  • Supplier interaction and execution of functional tests
  • Collaboration with BMS development areas to ensure seamless system integration
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance support for serial production and quality-related issues
  • Analysis and optimization activities focused on cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and security quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
  • Supporting the international team with electronics expertise

 

The role requires a solid understanding of energy systems, battery systems, power electronics, model-based design (MBD), and battery management software algorithms. A strong willingness to learn and the ability to work across diverse, cross-functional teams is essential.

 

Your Profile:


We are looking for a driven and collaborative engineer with a passion for electrification and system development.

 

You have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Several years of experience in electronic or mechatronic component development
  • Basic knowledge and experience with software applications and embedded systems
  • Excellent teamwork skills and experience working in collaborative, interdisciplinary projects
  • The ability to communicate and coordinate effectively within international teams
  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally
