Design Engineer

It is Scania’s ambition to continue its quick growth in the area of sustainable transports and alternative fuels. To adjust resources for this ambition we need to strengthen our group that has the responsibility to provide Scania with viable and sustainable alternative fuel driven engines.

Our group cover the work areas of predevelopment and concept development all the way to field quality engineering. We have component responsibility for most alternative fuel specific components. The team consists of a small group of experts to covers a broad area of expertise.

This means that you will have full responsibility in your area of expertise, and your colleagues will match and support you with information and help from their areas. Your role

We offer a position as a design engineer. Working as a design engineer in our group means both buying components and designing unique Scania articles for our engines and fuel supply system. Development of components for alternative fuel engines for commercial vehicles means beeing at the forefront and in many areas pushing the requirements and specifications to their limits without endangering quality or functionality. Curiosity and thinking outside the box is a necessity but also the ability to balance product properties against eachother to create a best in class product for our customers.

Qualifications

We hope you have a strong interest in developing environmental friendly engines that can meet our future challenging demands. We need engineers that can pay great attention to the small details without losing the holistic perspective.

We look for engineers capable of designing and testing both virtually and physically. Your assignments will vary over time as we work as a group, sharing the work load.

Experience of compression ignited and/or spark ignited combustion engine development is highly preferential but not mandatory. Right personality and skill set when coming to personal abilities such as effectiveness and personal drive can easily make up for any lack of prior engine expertise.

We value good communication skills with a customer oriented focus. An ambitious mindset and internal drive to support our suppliers, internal and external customers with quick and accurate information. A strong dedication to finishing tasks on expected delivery date with the right quality, is taken for granted.

We believe you have a masters degree or equal in the area of mechanical engineering or physics.
