Are you looking for a job that combines leadership with cutting edge technology? We are now looking for a first line manager for the team Perception within Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Research, Scania R&D.
The department Autonomous Systems has the mission to bring the best autonomous solutions to the customers. Our section, ATS Research, conducts pre-development and applied research, focusing on the latest technology within self-driving systems. Our work is strongly value driven with the aim to create future customer value. We operate in agile teams that work in close cooperation with leading partners and academic institutions, with the ambition to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies. Both our research and practical experiments shall iteratively lead to concepts for industrialisation. One of our major initiatives the upcoming years is to develop a self-driving system for prototype buses that will be a part of Qatar Autonomous Mobility in 2022.
You will be leading an agile team within ATS Research. The team consists of research engineers and software developers that conduct research, design, implement and optimize multi-sensory perception systems for autonomous driving. The team’s area of responsibility covers the complete workflow from data collection, sensor fusion, scene perception and object tracking in the simulation environment to deployment in our vehicles.
Your most important task is to provide the pre-requisites needed for your employees to be successful in their job, every day. The work approach is iterative development and rapid prototyping enabled by a flexible platform for the autonomous vehicles.
You have strong management and servant leadership skills. You have a lot of enthusiasm and have the ability to see people’s capabilities and to trust others. To succeed in this position you need to be strong in building teams, be communicative, show grit and be energized by challenges. We are looking for a team player with a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working.

You also have good understanding in signal processing and data driven methods. Together with your team, you drive the technical development forward. You grow with responsibility and have a holistic approach to challenges.
You have some years of professional experience and 2+ years of leadership experience as a people manager along with an academic background that matches our domain; at least at M.Sc. level. Good command of English is mandatory. Good Swedish language skills is an advantage. It is meritorious if you have experience in sensor technologies, machine learning, software development or in research.
