About the job

Nordic Entertainment Group is already the Nordic region’s leading streaming and entertainment provider – and we are now to become the European streaming champion. We are established in the 5 Nordics countries and plan to launch Viaplay in 10 new markets by the end of 2023, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the US in 2021. We are now looking for a Data Analyst to strengthen our Advanced Analytics team in Stockholm. Are you our next colleague? Send us your application today!

The position

As a Data Analyst you will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their objectives and map how data analysis can be a game changing resource for their strategies.

You will perform data analyses that help drive strategic decisions. You love to engage non-technical audiences with your on-point insights and visualizations. You will work in a team with other Data Analysts and Data Scientists who share knowledge and experience in researching and developing data products and analysis. Are you all about crunching and wrangling data and entertaining the businesses with insights? Awesome, then we have an offer you cannot refuse!

The challenge ahead
  • We offer you the opportunity to play a strategic role in a fast-paced environment. Streaming is changing the way media is consumed and Viaplay is one of the leading actors in northern Europe. Statistical research and data-driven decision making is playing an increasingly important role in NENT.
  • As a Data Analyst you will play a key role in improving NENT’s analytical capabilities by building analytical frameworks, reports, models and dashboards. Be the go-to guy when it comes to customer, viewing and behaviour data. Also work for utilizing external data sources to enrich and deepen the analysis.
  • Our technology stack offers great opportunities to showcase and develop your data science skills. You will work on AWS for computation and storage, using R and Scala/Spark to breathe life to cloud-based data analyses.
What we are looking for

Successful candidates also meet the following requirements:

  • Translate business questions into clear and well-defined problem/hypothesis.
  • Academic degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Familiarity and experience in basic statistical concepts and methods.
  • High competence in R and SQL. Scala and Python are pluses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communicator and data storyteller with on-point visualizations.
  • Affinity towards teaming up with other curious minds to tackle analytical challenges
We offer you
  • Freedom to try out new things and independent decision-making by our autonomous teams.
  • We build everything in-house with cutting edge technologies where test-driven development and continuous deployments are central in the deployment process.
  • We inspire others and share knowledge openly.
  • A place to grow and learn from our mistakes. We have a learning and development focused environment with an emphasis on knowledge sharing, training and regular internal technical talks, pair programming and mob programming.
  • An innovative environment with hack days two times a year.
  • An international and diverse environment with people from all over the world working here. We have 35+ different nationalities in the office coming from different backgrounds.
  • An attractive offer with a beneficial occupational pension plan, insurance plan, healthcare, 30 days of paid vacation, flexible work hours and parental leave pay lift.

Our HQ is in Stockholm, but our market is the Nordics. You will become part of an amazing company with great people, content and culture.
