Intelligent Transport Systems is a section of four groups at Scania R&D. We are contributing to Autonomous Transport Solutions by providing cloud based systems (AWS) for automated, optimized and safe vehicle control and monitoring.

For the section's group “Geospatial Intelligence and Customer Integrations“ we are now looking for a first line manager who wants to help us develop our section and its management team, build great development teams and contribute to sustainable transport solutions. Assignment
You will be responsible for a group of two team, providing Geospatial Intelligence (maps) and Customer Integrations (APIs) to the cloud based services supporting our autonomous vehicles. These two agile teams of in total eleven people have an end-to-end responsibility to their products. Geospatial Intelligence is, for example, responsible for making the map available to other teams, defining map standards based on requirements and the secure distribution and version handling of maps all the way to the vehicle. Customer Integrations makes sure our autonomous system can be integrated with ease to our customer’s ecosystem. For organizing our work, we use the SAFe framework but focus on agile more than methods.

You will have a mix of tasks in terms of recruitment, competence development, building efficient and healthy agile teams, coaching of employees, improvement work and product guidance. You also support your teams in their collaboration with other teams and stakeholders within and outside Scania. You will work closely with the other managers within Intelligent Transport Systems and contribute to the management team work such as strategical planning and organization development.

Your profile
You have strong management and servant leadership skills. You have a lot of enthusiasm and you have the ability to see people’s capabilities and to trust others. To succeed in this position you need to be strong in building teams, be communicative, show grit and be energized by challenges.

We are looking for a team player with a can-do mentality combined with an analytical mindset and structured way of working. To fit the expectations of the role we think you are

  • experienced in developing teams and systems in complex environments,
  • living improvement and a sense-respond-ship mindset,
  • able to lead change while your organization feels safe and stays focused,
  • experienced and interested in agile IT system development.

You have a graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent. You have at least 3+ years of professional experience as a software developer and a minimum of 2+ years of experience as a people manager. Good command of English is required. Good Swedish language skills is an advantage.
