Your contribution

As the Manager of the Application Software team at Teledyne FLIR, your primary responsibility will be to drive the technology and capabilities of the team. Your team will consist of 14 skilled software engineers, testers, a product owner, and a team leader. You will ensure that your team has the resources it needs in terms of capacity, technology, processes, and way of working, and will actively work to recruit top talent, drive improvement initiatives, manage the budget, and ensure high-quality outputs. A key aspect of your leadership style will be to apply servant leadership principles, ensuring that your team members are well-equipped to execute projects effectively.

In addition to leading your team, you will also collaborate closely with other managers within the R&D organization to establish a common process and way of working for software development.

This position is located at our office in Täby, just north of Stockholm.

Job description

• Lead and mentor a software development team within an agile project-oriented organization
• Be a part of the R&D Management group responsible for all Handheld Solutions
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with all your team members
• Take initiatives to improve processes, tools, and ways of working
• Attract and recruit highly skilled individuals while ensuring optimal performance management
• Manage the team's budget and cost control measures for your team

Qualifications and personal attributes

• M.Sc.Eng / B.Sc.Eng in computer science or other relevant field
• Experience from leading an agile software team, either as a manager or project manager
• Experience in software development and/or software testing
• Strong analytic and strategic mind with an unstoppable eagerness to learn
• Expertise in presenting analysis from a holistic to a granular level 
• Communicative personality with a can-do attitude
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Swedish
