Detta jobb är inaktivt och går inte att söka längre

About the job

Scania is currently seeking an experienced CAE engineer to join one of the simulation chassis teams located in Södertälje. The ideal candidate will excel in a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work as part of a smaller motivated CAE team to support R&D with high level design decisions, through quantitative analysis and ensuring a design that is well balanced between durability, cost and weight. Innovation and introspection is expected both in the design of the product and process being used.

This role involves working closely with Testing, as well as Materials, Industrial Engineering, and other departments, in order to drive projects to success.

The CAE teams are supporting 200+ engineers in their decisions on how to create new products and that exposes us to a wide array of interesting challenges both in terms of new materials and not yet thought of methods.

You will be expected to

  • Regularly and proactively connect with an extensive network with the R&D organisation in order to spread an understanding of the significance of durability. We put great emphasis on interpersonal skills, as you will be expected to effectively convey technical issues to colleagues and managers from many functional units.
  • From the early stages of the design process, be part of cross-functional teams and help optimise components with regards to strength, weight and cost.
  • Cooperate with test engineers, plan the development and verification of truck components and systems, utilise loads acquired from truck measurements as inputs for simulations.
  • Correlate simulations of highly dynamic systems to test results and provide support and direction to teams of design engineers based on your simulations.
  • Continually develop CAE methods with the help of new software or test data to improve efficiency and accuracy, both in-house and in collaboration with external suppliers.
  • Analyse results, prepare reports and presentations, and to effectively communicate your findings within various forums.

What we can offer you

  • A dynamic workplace with varied and challenging work assignments. We focus on a collaborative environment where everyone participates in driving projects forward. As a new employee you will receive the full backing and support from all team members.
  • Continual improvement and professional development of employees is a priority for us. The further education of employees, via both internal and external courses, is encouraged and supported.
  • Whatever your professional aspirations are, Scania’s varied and numerous career development pathways can help you achieve them.
  • State of the art computing resources, including the pre-processor HyperMesh and the FE solver Abaqus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience automotive-similar industry.
  • Applied experience in ANSA or HYPERWORKS and ABAQUS, required.
  • Demonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative automotive-similar engineering environments.
  • Experience in coding, PYTHON or JAVASCRIPT, preferred
