At Magna Electronics, we are at the forefront of developing and manufacturing cutting-edge products such as cameras, radar, and other sensors for modern vehicles. Our mission is to lead the way in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the future of autonomous cars.
A thesis internship at Magna offers students the opportunity to delve into a high-tech automotive company. Throughout your internship, you will receive mentorship and guidance, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world scenarios.
Subject:
Using geometric distortion to characterize bimetallic effects in cameras.
Background:
Geometric distortion refers to imperfections or aberrations that can occur in camera lenses, leading to a deviation from the ideal projection of light onto the camera's image sensor. It can also be a result of a misalignment between the lenses and the sensor itself. The distortion can best be described as a mathematical model and be reverted.
Cameras are likely to endure bimetallic effects during extreme temperatures causing translations and/or bending between the camera PCB and sensor.
Purpose:
Develop and implement a solution for characterizing the translation of the camera sensor during different temperatures using a distortion model.
Field:
Physics and Optics
Learning objectives:
Number of student(s): 1-2
Student background: Background in physics and preferably optics
Extent: 30 credits (Master)
Start: Spring 2025
Location: Linköping
