Applying the Function & Platform Architect into each vehicle Programme. This role focuses on the technical definition and application of an exciting breadth of new technologies onto new vehicle concepts, interacting across engineering functions and attribute teams.

This position can be located in either Coventry, UK or Gothenburg, Sweden.


The Responsibilities

Electrical Architecture and Strategy is a team within SW&E department are based in Sweden and UK. The EE Architecture will be developed in accordance with the various industry standards for security, safety and diagnostics. You will ensure the Function layer, architecture, systems, and network design is robust, safe and flexible from initial concept though to series production and beyond. You will be working with all areas of the business (commodity, Attribute and Programme) to deliver all aspects of the EE Architecture.

You will be the go-to-expert for all kind of questions related to Functions and Feature solutions.

key responsibilities will be:

  • Identifying Functions: Work with engineers from various disciplines to identify all the functionalities applicable for a project.
  • Support Feature Development: Support in defining business cases and use cases of features and identify impact on functions
  • Change Management: Act as a coordinator on functional changes (moderation of function change committee, support finding change entry point/release)
  • Standardization and Practices: Ensure adherence to processes and standards, define best practices for development teams.
  • Help develop and maintain the EE architecture for current and further platform/s required to satisfy the vehicle features, security and safety requirements by interfacing with business partners, electrical system and component owners.
  • Contribute to the on-vehicle systems, networks, car config and Electrical vehicle standards including supporting system and component owners to deliver them.
  • Design and maintain signals, frames and PDUs for all LIN, CAN/FD and Ethernet networks according to system requirements using network design tools
  • Work closely with future commodity and technology strategy
  • Work with Electrical Launch Engineers to support investigations into route cause and resolution

To be successful in this role we believe you have:

  • Relevant experience of working with Automotive Industry and Electrical Architecture.
  • Possession of an Electronics, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognised engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience will be considered.
  • Understanding of electrical architectures, vehicle functionalities, CAN /LIN/Ethernet/AE networks, wiring and diagnostic technologies
  • Understanding and experience in EE architecture and System engineering designing tools
  • Mandarin Chinese (Optional)
