As somewhat of an internal startup, we are looking for a Data Scientist to join us to create the best-in-class product analytics tools for the entire Visma Group. Our team delivers data on user feedback and behavior at scale, with the potential of delivering for hundreds of services and teams. Visma Product Development is a center of excellence providing cutting-edge tech competence and solutions within several areas for the hundreds of products in the Visma portfolio. In the Product Analytics team that you will be part of, our data collection platform enables teams all around Visma to collect and analyse data in and about their products. They use this to make the right decisions, whether it is which feature to develop or improve, or how to price and package the product.

With Visma’s more than one million customers and many times more users, this platform’s potential is massive. You will join a passionate team that has built a mature and reliable platform over the years, has traction in the organization, and has received top management commitment. At the same time, the rollouts have just started and the playing field is wide open when it comes to design decisions, thanks to a flexible setup and a low degree of legacy.

About the discipline / role

Data science plays a vital part of delivering the mission of Product Analytics. The team exists to lead Visma and support companies within to maximize the return of investments in product data. Value delivery has to be both wide as well as deep. It has never been this easy to apply advanced analytics as it is today, and the possibilities in deriving impactful insights from data are next to endless.

The purpose of the role will be to lead and drive the topic of data science in product analytics, to experiment and find ways of leveraging the value of the data the services collect. This involves engaging in prompt design, applying LLMs, and other advanced technologies, as well as discovering innovative GPT backed features that can be integrated into the product analytics platform.

We never expect a full-fledged solution, but the insights in understanding if it is worth investing and building something new is what allows us to understand what directions we should pursue. What type of deep insights can be used to help Visma operate smoother and what can help Visma create a better focus?

Some typical tasks the data scientist will be doing

Ability to carry out advanced data and statistical analysis

Ability to discover machine learning / LLM use cases and deliver prototypes, potentially taking them to production

Experiment on data use cases and assess the value and the potential scale.

Design data pipelines for simple use cases and if necessary full machine learning cycles

Create a continuous feedback loop to stakeholders and team members

Ability to work cross functionally with various teams and stakeholders to delivery solutions

Aid the team with Python expertise and ensure data ingestion from InMoment is reliable

Preferred hard skills

* Proficiency with Python and SQL

* Experience with NLP and delivering LLM solutions is preferred

* Advanced data analysis and visualisation skills

Experience with BI tools, such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Kubit or similar

Google Cloud Platform

Proficiency with GenAI and LLM capabilities
