Situated within the Cab Body and Trim organization in the Cab Department, our Mechanical Testing group specializes in crash testing and component testing of cab parts. Scania has high ambitions when it comes to passive safety and the coming Euro NCAP for heavy trucks will put even more focus on passive safety. We do full scale crash tests, sled tests and impact tests according to ECE regulations.

Currently we are 13 members in the group, consisting of a manager, a test coordinator, seven test engineers and four mechanics. We are now expanding to accommodate exciting new projects and are looking for a skilled test engineer to join our innovative and competent testing team.

Your work assignments

As a crash test engineer, you will be responsible to lead the test. From the initial discussions of the test setup, securing a crash test vehicle and writing the specifications to the execution of the test, analyzing of the result and present the findings at technical meetings and in a report. You will work close together with simulation engineers, designers and our mechanics. Most test are done at external test institutes, which involve some travel within Sweden and Europe. Contributing to the development of our methods and processes is also a natural part of our work.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Experience in crash testing or crash simulation
  • Excellent collaboration skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Bonus
  • Experience in Mechanical testing
  • Driver’s license for truck
  • Knowledge of measurement acquisition and analyzing software
  • General knowledge of measurement sensors
  • Practical skills
  • Skills in injury evaluation
  • Skills in biomechanics
  • Knowledge in crash testing battery electric vehicles
  • Skills in Swedish
