Do you want to be a part of Scania with a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to technical projects concerning chassis components, finding new ways to improve products, methods, and processes with a focus on modularity? Then you should apply for this position as a Design Engineer within the E-mob Auxillary Installations group!

This is us

The team includes 14 design engineers, one sub-project manager, and one group manager. It consists of people with a mixture of different work experiences, nationalities, genders, and ages. The atmosphere of the team can be described with the following words; inclusion, teamwork, and relaxed attitude. We have an open climate where we support each other and have fun at work!

The team has the responsibility of installing auxiliary components, including brake installation, guide rails, and smaller structural components on the chassis needed for the battery electrical vehicle (BEV), keeping modularity, Scania production, service workshops, and the driver in mind.

Your assignment

As a design engineer within our group, you will be expected to..

• Be a hands-on team player involved in the conceptual and implementation stages of new products and as part of a cross-functional team create innovative designs and help optimize those components.
• Cooperate with test engineers, production engineers, and styling, taking your conceptual sketches to production-ready parts.
• Discuss and negotiate with suppliers on project plans and manufacturability.
• Create drawings, prepare reports and presentations, and effectively communicate your findings within various forums.
• Benchmark and analyze competitors concerning chassis components.

Your profile

To succeed in this role you are driven, have the right mindset, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You should like to take initiative, dare to make your own decisions, and get things done. You should also enjoy helping conceive and develop exciting and innovative designs as well as supporting current products on the field with quality issues. It is also important that you are a great communicator and love to collaborate with others, as the network of contacts is extensive and varied, and you will collaborate with a lot of different stakeholders within the company. You should also enjoy the social aspect, as we like to joke and laugh a lot within the team.

We would also like that..

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
• You have preferred 2 years of work experience as an engineer.
• You have experience or a good understanding of creating and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• You write and speak fluently in English. If you write and speak fluently in Swedish, is a merit.

Experience in parts manufacturing methodologies, processes, and 3D CAD, as well as working at Scania, is a merit.
