Accounting Analyst to Downing

Your responsibilities

As an Accounting Analyst at Downing, you will be part of the Energy & Infrastructure team, managing the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You will support process improvements and help develop efficient finance operations as the renewable energy portfolio grows. You report to the Finance Manager in Stockholm. 

Your main responsibilities include: 

• Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing 
• Handle payments, including vendor settlements and intercompany transfers 
• Oversee vendor invoice routing and approval workflows, maintaining compliance with internal controls 
• Perform bank and basic account reconciliations and support month-end close activities, including tax-related reconciliations  
• Collaborate with local teams and external consultants to ensure adherence to local accounting regulations 
• Engage with local authorities as necessary for audits, regulatory inquiries, or compliance updates 
• Support the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and best practices 
• Assist with internal financial reporting and provide documentation to external auditors when required 
• Support ad-hoc projects as needed

Experience

• Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field 
• Around one year of relevant experience in accounting or finance. Experience from internship or an international or group finance environment is considered an advantage. 
• Fluency in Swedish and English, written and spoken. Additional language skills, especially Nordic languages, are considered an advantage 
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes 
• Comfortable working with financial systems and tools
