Your Trainee position and your team

Do you like credit risk and want an exciting mix of analytical challenges and professional development opportunities? Join SEB’s Credit Monitoring team as part of the Credit Risk unit within the CRO (Chief Risk Officer) function, and work at the core of the bank’s risk management. The team’s primary goal is to monitor, analyze, and report SEB’s credit risk profile, enabling the Group to make well-informed decisions in managing credit exposure.

As a Risk Officer, you will:

· Develop a detailed understanding of the bank’s credit portfolio and risk profile

· Collaborate with stakeholders on all levels across the bank and gain a unique insight into how the bank operates

· Analyze and monitor SEB’s credit portfolio development, composition and trends

· Conduct portfolio and thematic risk reviews in collaboration with stakeholders across the bank, both on regular and ad-hoc basis

· Take part in project related work both within the CRO function, and with other departments of the Group

· Have the opportunity to present the team’s work to senior management

Simultaneously by working in the role you are being recruited to, you will participate in SEB's International Trainee Programme for nine months. It will give you the opportunity to develop an extensive network within the bank, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry and be professionally and personally challenged.

As part of the programme, you can expect to: contribute to meaningful projects, work on communication and leadership skills, do rotations in other teams across the bank, participate in a business challenge and do an international internship at another SEB site in the world.

We’re looking for young talents who are curious, motivated, and ready to question the status quo.

To thrive in this role and in the International Trainee programme, we believe you have:

· Graduated within the past two years, or will graduate before the programme starts on 1st September 2026 – from a relevant academic degree

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership

· Great communication skills and to be able to work in English – you will need to convey complex topics to various stakeholders

· A genuine interest in credit risk and a drive to understand and improve processes

· Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge in SQL is meritorious

· Are a team player, who thrives in a collaborative environment and values knowledge sharing

· Can quickly adapt to new circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment

Previous experience (part-time work, life abroad etc.) and involvement during your studies are advantageous but what matters most is your potential and passion.

Our recruitment process

We want to get to know you, and for you to get to know us.

The recruitment process includes:

- Psychometric tests

- Interviews – digitally and/or on-site

- A case exercise and presentation

- SEB Day – an event to learn more about SEB and the programme, with insights from former trainees

Please be aware that our final candidates undergo background checks, a process that includes for example identity control, verification of qualifications, credit checks, company engagements and history of crime. In some cases, we also apply random drug checks.
