Do you want to challenge, change, and steer our company into the future? Are you passionate about technology and ready to make a difference? Then you will thrive at SEB.
At SEB, we believe in fresh thinking, new working methods, and innovation to create a fairer and more sustainable world. Since SEB was founded in 1856, our focus on customers and long-term relationships has been at the heart of our success, while we place a strong emphasis on sustainability and digitalization as we shape the future of SEB.
With the Tech Trainee Programme and as an employee, we'll help you develop new skills and take on more responsibility to create a positive impact. You will become a crucial key player in shaping the future of the bank.
Your Tech Trainee position and your team
Are you a recent graduate aspiring to become a professional developer with a strong interest in cybersecurity, coding and IT infrastructure? Join SEB’s Operational Security Center (OSC) in Stockholm and take your first step into the world of operational cybersecurity.
You’ll work alongside our security experts including penetration testers, incident responders, security engineers, and vulnerability managers to learn how we detect, prevent, and respond to real cyber threats in one of Sweden’s most complex IT environments.
This is a unique opportunity to explore several areas within cybersecurity such as:
• Incident Response – learn how to detect and contain cyber-attacks.
• Vulnerability Management – understand how to identify and prioritize risks across large-scale systems.
• Cyber Threat Intelligence – learn how to anticipate and analyze threat actors.
• Penetration Testing & Red Teaming – see how attackers think and how defenses are tested.
• Security Engineering & Automation – build the tools and systems that strengthen all the areas above.
What you'll be doing:
• Collaborate across several domains within OSC
• Work with real tools and live data under supervision
• Receive mentorship from experienced security professionals
• Build a foundation in areas such as Python scripting, automation, infrastructure, threat analysis, and red teaming
• Develop a solid understanding of how modern enterprises build cyber resilience
We’ll help you find your path, whether that’s becoming a penetration tester, security engineer, or developer in the future
Simultaneously by working in the role you are being recruited to, you will participate in SEB's Tech Trainee Programme for six months. It will give you the opportunity to develop an extensive network within the bank, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry and our global tech organization, and be professionally and personally challenged.
As part of the programme, you can expect to: contribute to meaningful projects, work on tech tracks, gain communication and leadership skills, and participate in a hackathon and a business challenge.

• Graduated within the past two years, or will graduate before the programme starts on 1st September 2026 – from a relevant academic degree or a two-year vocational education in IT or tech

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership
• Great communication skills and to be able to work both in English and Swedish
We believe you are curious and motivated to learn new technologies, and a team player who enjoys solving problems together.
Previous experience (part-time work, student projects, labs in IT/Tech etc.) and involvement during your studies are advantageous but what matters most is your potential and passion.
