Your Tech Trainee position and your team

As a developer in SEB’s IT Asset Management team, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that values continuous learning and shared responsibility.

Our open culture encourages knowledge sharing through pair programming, problem-solving workshops, and regular ‘Demo Fridays’. The development team consists of a mix of junior and senior developers.


In your role, you will:

•       Help us deliver innovative and data-driven solutions

•       Be part of an Agile delivery team, contributing throughout the entire lifecycle—from design to production support

•       Develop line-of-business applications with a strong focus on IT Asset management, playing a key role in delivering solutions in close collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams

•       Be able to work across the full stack, as the delivery area continues to grow – from database modelling and back-end development to APIs, user interfaces, and integrations with other critical systems within the bank

•       Be supported by experienced colleagues and encouraged to experiment, ask questions, and develop new skills every day

•         Visual Studio Professional and VS Code

•         Kubernetes

•         GitHub Copilot


Simultaneously by working in the role you are being recruited to, you will participate in SEB's Tech Trainee Programme for six months. It will give you the opportunity to develop an extensive network within the bank, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry and our global tech organization, and be professionally and personally challenged.


As part of the programme, you can expect to: contribute to meaningful projects, work on tech tracks, gain communication and leadership skills, and participate in a hackathon and a business challenge.

 

Key traits to thrive in this role and programme

We’re looking for young talents who are curious, motivated, and ready to question the status quo.


To thrive in this role and in the Tech Trainee Programme, we believe you have:

•       Graduated within the past two years, or will graduate before the programme starts on 1st September 2026 – from a relevant academic degree or a two-year vocational education in IT or tech 

•       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership

•       Great communication skills and to be able to work in English

•       Some experience or interest in technologies like .NET, Angular, and REST APIs, or are motivated to learn them with our support

We also believe you:

•       Bring curiosity and a collaborative spirit to our team, ready to tackle challenges together

•       Value teamwork, open communication, and shared responsibility

 

Previous experience (part-time work, student projects, labs in IT/Tech etc.) and involvement during your studies are advantageous but what matters most is your potential and passion.

Our recruitment process

​We want to get to know you, and for you to get to know us.

The recruitment process includes:

-          Psychometric tests

-          Interviews – digitally and/or on-site

-          A case exercise and presentation

-          SEB Day – an event to learn more about SEB and the programme, with insights from former trainees


Please be aware that our final candidates undergo background checks, a process that includes for example identity control, verification of qualifications, credit checks, company engagements and history of crime.​ In some cases, we also apply random drug checks.


SEB Sweden has a redeployment responsibility, which is why this position might be covered by internal redeployment.
