About the job

Marshall Group is the audio, tech and design powerhouse uniting musicians and music lovers through genre-breaking audio innovation. We are home to Marshall, Natal Drums, Urbanears and adidas headphones. For over sixty years, we’ve amplified the sound of the world’s most talented artists. We’ve brought their music to crowds and solo listeners everywhere. We give sound a design that resonates with ears and eyes, as well as at a deeper cultural level. No matter the scene or music genre, we aim to excite, intrigue and surprise. Bridging iconic rock ‘n’ roll heritage with cutting-edge innovation and culture-driven brand-building, our group activities span professional music equipment, consumer electronics, live events, a record label, and more.

This is a temporary position with start asap and terminated end-of-year.

Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for navigating the intricate landscape of retail? We are seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join our dynamic team and take the lead in bridging the gap between development of retail samples (products made for retail environments) and technical Point of Sale (POS) solutions, to ensure that we provide the best-in-class product test and brand experience for our audiences. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, possess technical expertise, and have a keen eye for detail, then this is something for you.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Channel Marketing, Creative Services and Project Management to understand and fulfill requirements, both on a global and local level.
    • This entails supporting CM with writing briefs that hold the technical specs to develop both products that are adjusted to retail environments as well as for POS displays; aligning on solutions in terms of hardware and software etc.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end development of our retail samples and be part of our display production, aligning the defined user experience with stakeholder expectations.
  • Act as the main interface between the product department and display suppliers in the case of the technical aspects, to ensure seamless coordination and high-quality output.
    • Ensure consistency across all retail sample products in terms of look and feel, sound levels, security features, functionality, and cables.
  • Provide support in various retail environment projects, including Shop-in-Shop (SIS), trade shows, and other initiatives in the case of technical solutions and conceptual aspects to provide the best-in-class customer experience and product testing in-store.
  • Address any technical discrepancies to maintain a high level of quality assurance by reviewing existing and future productions.
  • Stay informed and be on top of new technologies, solutions, and trends within the retail experience domain.

Other tasks may include:

  • Manage and organise a central repository for saving and storing all retail sample projects and related documentation.
  • Take responsibility for securing appropriate production volumes of retail samples, gathering information from local markets and creating forecasts.
  • Provide support in the refill production of retail samples, addressing technical inquiries.

Who you are:

  • Passion for music and technology
  • Have a bachelor's degree in engineering or similar
  • 1-3 years of proven track record within product or retail sample development
  • Strong technical knowledge to facilitate discussions with internal and external parties
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of new technologies and trends in retail product experience.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Our pledge:

We thrive to foster an inclusive workplace and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or marital status. We firmly believe that Marshall thrives when our employees do, leading to better experiences for our consumers.
