Junior Accountant

Valtech is looking for a Junior Accountant for our North Western Europe region (NWE) which covers the Netherlands and the UK. You would be joining a highly talented team of finance professionals to support the region and report to our global function. This position is initially being offered on a 1 year fixed term contract basis, with a view to potentially going permanent.

A day in the life of a Junior Accountant

As a Junior Accountant, you fulfil an essential role. You will mainly be responsible for handling the various processes related to full reconciliation of our regions accounts & ledgers, travel account and company credit cards ensuring accuracy of all nominal codes and legitimacy of the costs (including receipt of invoices/receipts).  

In addition, you will: 

• Liaise with AP and AR to ensure cash is allocated on a weekly basis as a minimum.
• Complete bank reconciliations for the GBP /Euro current and deposit accounts.
• Process adhoc payments such as PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax, payroll related and bank transfers at the request of the Financial Controllers and post these payments into ledgers.
• Post the ICBO month end journals sent by group.
• Run ICBO reports from Oracle and load to HFM upload file.
• Match balances with ICBO counterparts by way of emails and sharing of transactions.

You and the role

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years commercial accounting experience. In addition:  

We would love if you have 

• Experience in dealing with Intercompany /international transactions.
• A degree in Accounting or Finance.
  
• An ACCA or CIMA qualification course or are in the process of getting qualified.
  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Have experience in accounting processes (Payables, Receivables, General Ledger, Cash Management, Fixed Asset)
  
• Strong Excel skills within an accounting environment.
• The ability to communicate fluently in English.
