Business Controller

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Business Controller is responsible for various tasks within the FP&A function. Examples of recurring tasks include providing management information and analysis both in accordance with existing schedules and on an ad-hoc basis, providing insightful commentary to ongoing financial developments both within the company and in the market, presenting and explaining financial performance for internal stakeholders, extracting and assemble data required for analysis from several different sources, as well as supporting and contributing to general initiatives within the FP&A function.

Furthermore, the Business Controller may take on responsibilities for both entire processes as well as subprocesses within the FP&A function and work not only to ensure that the processes are well-functioning but also to develop existing processes.

The work is carried out in our modern and welcoming office located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Södermalm in Stockholm. The office provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for our employees to thrive in, whilst the ability to working remote is flexible.


Requirements & experience

· A relevant university degree within a relevant subject (e.g. Economics, Finance or Mathematics)

· Previous experience of working as a Business Controller within the Financial sector

· General knowledge of industry best practices

· Knowledge of relevant accounting and financial practices

· Ability to communicate insightful analysis

· Ability to extract and handle large datasets

· Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel, including financial modelling

· Ability to perform in a high-paced environment and meet deadlines

· Excellent communications skills both in Swedish and English

Competence & characteristics

As a person, you are often described as a driven, self-motivated, analytical, and business-oriented individual, with a good ability to zoom out and see both the big picture and the details. You understand the importance of excellent communication and find it easy to initiate and maintain valuable relationships within the organization. You are solution-oriented and happy to raise suggestions for further improvement. Furthermore, you have the ability to collaborate with both junior and senior members of different teams within Avida and have the willingness to learn and help develop the knowledge of others.
