About Us

Our group – TGRPDTT Transmission Component Testing and Gear Technology- works with the design, testing, and validation of torque transfer components in main and planetary gearbox i.e. gears, shafts and bearings. We are also responsible for radial seals, rotor bearings, and the odd screw and retaining ring in the gearbox shafts system.

Today we are a group of 11 people as gear designers and test engineers that work together in a customer-centric and exploring approach. When developing our customer solutions, we are organized in virtual and cross-functional value creation flows according to the Traton tailored SAFE framework. In these teams we interact across different functions in Industrial Operations and are in frequent collaboration with assembly, machining, suppliers or sourcing department at Scania. Developing for all of Traton, we also work together with MAN and International and develop for our global production in EU, South America and Asia. 

As a group we come together around our shared competence area (gears, shafts, bearings) where we integrate collected knowledge from the product flows and build competence, assure quality and long term methods and technical development. Challenges of increasing importance relates to electrified drivetrains affecting system design and materials, compact designs with maintained or improved efficiency and durability, data-driven development, and methods for faster development iterations.

We are a mixed group in terms of experience where some have worked for more than twenty years in the field, and others for one year. Together the group holds a lot of knowledge and expertise and we promote a helpful, inclusive and supportive work environment. Discussions, troubleshooting, and analysis are part of our daily work and we are transparent and humble in our interactions. We are curious and we learn together as we apply ourselves to new challenges.

About the role

Your main tasks as a test engineer will include:

  • Be part of our innovative team developing and verifying our products
  • Help create insights into future product solutions and solve challenges connected to current products
  • Performing hands-on tests in our rigs, together with a team of ambitious test engineers and in close collaboration with the design engineers.
  • Develop our test methods, especially for emerging e-mobility products and data driven decision making. You will play an important part in this process
  • Analyse test results to determine the next step in the product development and verification plan
  • Automation and scripting


You will follow the development of the hardware from idea to finalized product and will be an important part of the continuous learning in the team.

Your Profile

The right candidate should have an engineering or master's degree in mechanical engineering, materials technology, vehicle technology or similar, and preferably some experience in related fields. A high level of initiative and good cooperation skills are necessary. We are looking for you that are curious, problem-solving, and driven to deliver results.

Meritorious skills and knowledge include:

  • Planetary or gearbox construction
  • Material technology and processing, such as casting and hardening
  • Programming skills (Python, Matlab or similar)
  • Softwares INCA, DEWESoft
  • Automatic control
  • Acoustics or NVH engineering
