Job description

As a Business Designer at VNB, you'll work in the early exploration phase of new initiatives, helping shape raw opportunities into structured, strategic business concepts. You’ll translate insights into clear business models and value propositions that align with Scania’s long-term goals and sustainability ambitions.

Reporting to our Head of Business Design, you will be part of a collaborative and future-facing team that plays a critical role in identifying and shaping the seeds of tomorrow’s ventures. In the business design team, we focus on early-stage exploration—once ideas are clearly defined and aligned with strategic priorities, we recruit dedicated venture teams to take them forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and business challenges through structured research and analysis
  • Translate early insights into potential business opportunities, including value propositions, revenue models, and customer journeys
  • Ensure new ideas to support Scania’s strategy and sustainability goals
  • Co-create and test high-level business concepts to assess desirability, feasibility, and viability
  • Build the foundation for scalable business cases in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Support dialogue with internal and external partners to strengthen ideas before handoff to dedicated venture teams
  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation and strategic curiosity

About you

We’re seeking someone who thrives in ambiguity, asks the right questions early, and can turn complexity into clarity.

  • 7-10 years of experience working in the intersection of corporate strategy, transformation and service design combining these practices.
  • Proven ability to navigate large organizations and manage stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in systems thinking, business model design and design thinking.
  • Expertise in creative techniques, facilitating workshops and design process, structured change initiatives and deep analysis of market and competitor landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with business modelling and early-stage concept development
  • Familiarity with customer journey design and value proposition frameworks
  • Comfort working in highly uncertain environments with emerging ideas

What we offer:

We offer you the chance to be part of an organization that is focused on reaching Scania’s targets and truly driving the shift to a sustainable transport system. Joining our team you will get to enjoy the flexibility and agility of a startup environment while benefiting from the stability and security of being employed by one of Sweden's largest companies. With the opportunities of the current transformative changes within the transport industry, we are on a very exciting journey. This is the right time to join us!
