Role Summary
We are now looking for an experienced Data Scientist to strengthen the Component Prognostics team within the Connected Analytics unit. You will be working as part of an agile team to enable various units within TRATON R&D worldwide in creating predictive component models. As part of the team, you will participate in the short- and long-term planning of deliveries and technologies, the prioritization and according implementation.
Before all, you will bring in your competence to develop predictive component models for the brands’ connected services to improve the customers’ uptime, based on the connected data of a fleet of a several hundred thousand vehicles. You will cooperate tightly with upstream and downstream partners (data engineers, data consumers, analysts and product and service owners) as well as with domain experts for the components of the vehicles.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop models for vehicle components to predict remaining useful life and maintenance intervals for individual vehicles based on connected vehicle data
• Take ownership for the complete life-cycle of the solutions you create, from requirements, planning, implementation to maintenance and continuous improvements
• Accelerate and scale the team’s efforts by applying latest technologies and methods in the field of data science and AI
• Contribute to the continuous improvement process of the team and share your knowledge to support the journey to being a data-driven and AI-ready company
• Ensure reliable, scalable and cyber secure solutions by applying and continuously improving the team’s DevSecOps methods
• Keep a clear focus on the value for the customers of the group’s brands Scania, MAN and International
Who You Are
As a person, you are analytical and delivery-oriented, with a genuine technical interest. You enjoy collaboration with different competences to improve your skills continuously and to find the best possible solution to a problem. Establishing a personal network within the organization is easy for you.
As an experienced data scientist, you have worked with large scale data sets and industrial solutions in cloud environments. You show professional habits and skills when it comes to tooling, coding, testing, deploying and documentation. You have a proven track record in at least some of the relevant areas of the field such as statistics, machine learning, data processing, DevSecOps, data- and ML-pipelining, predictive maintenance, cloud infrastructure.
Having been engaged in component modelling and the automotive industry previously is a merit.
Your work is based on the following (or comparable) skills and tooling (examples): Python / SQL, AWS, CICD, Gitlab, Snowflake / Databricks.
You have an academic education at university level in computer science, engineering physics, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. You communicate fluently in English, in both speech and writing.
