Junior Software Engineer

What about the role?

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our R&D team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career, perhaps recently graduated from university, who is eager to solve real-world problems in a modern engineering environment.

As a Junior Engineer at Hedvig, you will work closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to build and improve the systems that power everything from our mobile apps to our claims handling tools. This role is oriented towards back-end development, although we encourage all engineers to work across technologies.

We work with a modern tech stack that includes:

- Backend services in Kotlin using Spring Boot

- Web with Next.js and Vercel

- Native mobile apps in Swift and Kotlin

- GraphQL for our API layer

- Microservice architecture

- Hosted in AWS

You don’t need to be familiar with these technologies and frameworks, what matters most is your willingness to learn and your enthusiasm for building great software.

We believe the right person for this role is early in their career, perhaps just finishing a computer science degree or a related technical program. What is important is that you’re driven, curious, and excited to grow as an engineer.
