Role Summary


Are you a recent engineering graduate eager to shape the future of sustainable transport? At TRATON R&D in Södertälje, we invite you to be part of our mission to transform transportation together.

As a Design Engineer in our BiW group, you'll contribute to the development of truck cab body for all TRATON group brands including Scania, MAN, International, and VW Caminhões e Ônibus. Your work will involve collaborating within a global team to design and develop cab structures using 3D CAD and welding data, engaging in both pre-development projects and product maintenance.

You will be working cross-functionally with testing, procurement, and global production teams, and interacting with international suppliers to specify requirements for components and tools.
 

Job Responsibilities


As Design Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to various aspects of our design and development processes. In this role, you will, among other tasks:
 

  • Be part of designing and developing cab body parts. 
  • Engage in pre-development projects and product maintenance. 
  • Collaborate closely with testing, procurement, and global production teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies. 
  • Interact with international suppliers to specify requirements for components and tools, fostering strong relationships to drive innovation.
     
Who You Are


We are looking for individuals who hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and have 0–3 years of experience in design engineering. Recent graduates are welcome to apply! You demonstrate initiative and a positive mindset, eager to learn and grow within a collaborative environment. Your strong communication skills enable you to thrive in diverse teams, and your strong target focus will lead you and motivate your colleagues. 

It is advantageous if you have completed your thesis work within the automotive industry, as this experience will be highly relevant to the role.
