Role summary

Your impact: You'll develop sophisticated Scala-based systems deployed directly onto autonomous trucks, utilizing Pekko Actors and Streams for event-driven data processing. Your robust, secure solutions will interface directly with 3rd party Fleet Management Systems, seamlessly bridging software and real-world vehicle operations.

Job responsibilities

Our tech stack & practices:

• Languages: Scala
• Frameworks & libraries: Pekko Actors & Streams, gRPC
• Infrastructure & tools: GitLab CI/CD, Gradle (Kotlin DSL), Docker, Kubernetes (platform-managed), Linux
• Testing & QA: Extensive automated testing (ScalaTest, Cypress), structured scenario-based simulation
• Observability: OpenTelemetry for comprehensive tracing, metrics, and logging. Otel to Grafana.
• Security: Rigorous privacy and security practices throughout the development lifecycle

 

A typical day in the team could involve that you start with pair programming or mob sessions, refining features before deploying to the simulation. Enjoy a casual lunch (perhaps a quick table tennis match), then validate your code on a real truck in the afternoon. Daily collaboration, weekly goal alignment, and bi-weekly retrospectives keep us aligned, energized, and continuously improving.

Who you are

We're looking for a Senior Developer who:

• Has strong Scala skills (or significant experience in a functional language and is eager to dive into Scala)
• Is experienced or interested in Pekko/Akka and streaming data architectures
• Is comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small, agile team, part of a bigger Global R&D organization working in a flow-based framework
