The opportunity
We're currently looking for a Senior Logistics Engineer, specialising in Global Freight Cost Management, to join our Outbound Logistics Engineering team and drive the development of freight cost management within Polestar Outbound Logistics. We seek someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.
The Outbound Logistics Engineering & Freight Cost Management Team consists of six Senior Engineers and Experts. The team ensures the network is developed through change and that carriers and external stakeholders are paid accordingly.
This position is located at our Gothenburg HQ. We believe in a hybrid model for remote and onsite work, recognising that both in-person collaboration and individual time to focus are essential. What matters most is that people get the time and support to do what needs to be done, and to enjoy doing it, of course.
The responsibilities
As a Global Freight Cost Management Senior Logistic Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and controlling outbound freight costs, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across all transport and logistics services. Your duties will include overseeing cost tracking, invoice validation, supplier payments, and budget alignment, all of which contribute to improved financial efficiency and operational transparency in global outbound logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for freight invoicing, cost allocation, supplier compliance, purchase order management, and financial reporting. Your efforts will ensure cost transparency, accurate payment processing, and optimised freight expenses.
Key responsibilities include validating the budget versus actual figures on both SBI and PO invoices, ensuring supplier payment accuracy and timeliness, and processing invoices promptly and accurately. This position will drive operational transparency within global freight cost efficiency, including reducing invoice discrepancies and errors. You will also collaborate with the Engineering team to drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure supplier compliance in outbound freight management.

To be a good fit for this position, you are a proactive leader with strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities. You must possess excellent communication and analytical skills to navigate complex tasks and drive improvements in freight cost management and Polestar's car distribution. The ability to manage and develop processes across multiple regions in finance and freight cost management is crucial.
