Junior Supplier Development Engineer

Job Description

Duties In this role, you will act as the key interface between the Production Quality- and the Supply Chain organization. As the key interface, you will be the primary contact person for Supplier Quality related issues escalated by Production Quality and take lead on the production stoppers when they are Supplier Quality related.

In this role, you will also be responsible for approving long term actions from suppliers and collect the 8D reports as well as ensuring that our suppliers processes are effective and robust since they affect the company’s ability to deliver in accordance with our zero-defect principle.

Responsibilities

• Drive and close Supplier claims in accordance with procedure.
• Take full ownership of solving quality related issues for nominated suppliers within timely manner.
• Conduct various supplier audits when necessary, such as during critical claims or during action follow-ups.
• Escalate and ensure that supplier-related issues are handled in accordance with company SOP (Standard Operating Procedure).
• Follow-up and ensure financial compensation (credit notes) for Supplier Quality claims.
• Identify, escalate, and prioritize Supplier development needs in order to reach company required level.
• Participate in various improvement projects- and processes and drive the efficiency within the SQA team together with other team members.

This position is located at our main production facility in Ängelholm Sweden. You will report directly to the Supplier Development Manager. Occasional travel, both domestic and international, will occur.

Further skills are required for this role:

• A university degree in quality engineering or similar coupled with some (3 -5) years of relevant working experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
• High proficiency within core tools such as 8D reporting, VA/VE, Fish bone analysis etc.
• Excellent communication skills that are suitable for both large groups and senior management. High proficiency in English is required.
• Strong business acumen.

The following skills will be considered meritorious but are not required:

• Knowledge of AIAG’s core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC
• Knowledge- and experience of working with various quality systems such as: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949
• Knowledge- and experience of working with LEAN Manufacturing systems, including standardized work, overall equipment efficiency (OEE) etc.

• Normal working hours 40 h/week, some overtime may occur
• On-site core office hours 08:30-15:30
