A day in your life with us

You will be based in the global Ingka office in Hubhult, Malmö, Sweden. At this Hub, approximately 2000 co-workers from all parts of the world work every day to create a better everyday life for the many people. To join us in our inspiring Hub we are welcoming students from different areas within Group Communication. In your application please make sure to let us know what areas you are interested in. We recommend that you put at least three areas of interest from the following:

Transformation Communication:

We, the Communication Transformation Team, create and drive simple, clear, and inspiring communication to support and enable the Ingka transformation agenda, creating a better IKEA. We lead and secure an aligned, coordinated, and synchronized Business Transformation communication across Ingka Group, ensuring ONE tone of voice and a humanistic approach. One initiative that transformation communication drives is to support the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting transformation for all of Ingka Group, which aims to accelerate our strategies and actions in creating value for our business, co-workers, society people and planet at large. The base is mandatory EU requirements and global guidelines, but we won’t stop there, instead, we see this as an opportunity to do more. Our role is to create change communication to support the ESG reporting transformation. Our role is to drive internal change and awareness on the ESG transformation topics while ensuring alignment with other sustainability communication, and this is where we need you!

As an intern with us, you will have the opportunity, together with a communication team, to create a communication acquisition process that aligns with our Ingka Investments approach. You will also be part of establishing and implementing the communication acquisition process as well as evaluating and improving it as we go. Through a solid communication acquisition process, we will be even better in how we internally and externally communicate about the investments we make for the generations to come, creating a better everyday life for the many.

Communication, Knowledge & Development:

Are you curious about how we develop our communication skills in a constantly changing environment? How do we run a community of more than 350 Comms experts located in 30+ countries? How do we feel truly connected even when we are located kilometers away from each other? Within the Communication Knowledge and Development area, we take care of how we meet and connect as a community, how we develop our competencies and create a continuous learning culture across everything we do, and how we grow - through coaching/support, exploring innovation, and fostering a performance mindset.

We have many exciting changes ahead that you, as an intern, will be involved in. To name a few: upgrading the ways of working with the whole Communication community, looking into more engaging ways to connect, bringing in outside-in perspective, and, of course, continuing to develop Comms skills on both the global and country level.

Customised meeting:

Customised Meeting is a team within Content Factory of nine engaged and passionate colleagues spending days planning and securing quality and high engagement for Ingka Group’s global internal meetings and events. We enjoy working together, supporting each other, and creating magic with the events.
As an intern with us, you will join us in our daily work. From building and administrating online registrations, booking accommodation, food & beverage, to supporting during a live event in one of our studios. You will learn how to connect with meeting owners to support and advise them on the best way to define, plan, execute and follow up their event (both digital and physical).

Communication Business Partner Unit:

We are the support to business leaders, advising and coaching them and by producing and driving communication initiatives – all internal and external audiences and channels considered. We connect the dots and ensure that messages are being received in an aligned and strong context – always with the IKEA customers close at heart. We support different parts of the organization/group functions, working both operationally and strategically.

As an intern with us, you will be a part of our bigger team working with several different topics. You will gain great insight into the work as a Communication Business Partner in a global organisation and you will have the chance to explore how we bring stories to life to co-workers and external audiences. You will also get the opportunity to support our country organisations in amplifying and aligning their needs connected to our business operation.

Creative Studio/Copywriting/Storytelling:

A team of passionate creative competencies - working closely with the IKEA brand, strategy, and plan. An in-house task force with hands-on expertise focused on production and advising on film, broadcast, graphic design, communication concepts, copywriting, and creative leadership.

We challenge and support our business, communication planning, stakeholder management, target group analysis, content production - and so much more. We lead the overall process from briefing, through concept creation, production development, and follow-up. We both act as advisors to external partners support Ingka with the dialogue, and team up with external competencies offering our internal strengths combined with the outside-in perspective. All to add the best value for the business! As an intern with us you will learn and participate in written duties within the Copy team.

Public Affairs:

We are the eyes & ears of Ingka Group and help to ensure that we are ahead of major trends and movements in society, at the forefront of change, and able to flourish in a dynamic world. We use Ingka Group’s voice to engage with the many so that we can achieve our ultimate purpose: to create a positive impact in society and to make a decisive difference for the many people and the one planet we all call home.

With us, you will have the opportunity to support our framework and internal preparation of Communication.
