EVRY • Full time • Göteborg
Markem-Imaje is a trusted world manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions, offering a full range of reliable and innovative inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, print and label application systems. Markem-Imaje delivers fully integrated solutions that enable product quality and safety, regulatory and retailer compliance, better product recalls and improved manufacturing processes.
Markem-Imaje Sweden in Gothenburg is something as unusual as a small innovation and development hub with a startup mindset within an established global company.
Our mission is to lead the development of new innovative products and solutions, from concept to production with the freedom to use the work methods we find most efficient. We love what we do, and we have help from the global organization we are a part of.
As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Markem-Imaje, you get to work at the heart of our Print & Apply platform, as part of a small team in an international context where ideas move quickly from discussion to implementation and everyone's technical input matters.
In this role, you will:
Be directly involved in and influence important technical decisions for the development of our Print & Apply products.
Work close to the hardware you are building software for, developing a system level understanding of how your code interacts with the motors, sensors, and electronics around it.
Collaborate with the wider team, both locally and across the global organization, drawing on their experience while helping shape the direction of the products you work on.
The role involves hands on coding, mainly in C++ in a Linux environment, developing the controller software that runs our Print & Apply products. You will work close to the hardware, from motors and sensors to the electronics that drive them, testing and troubleshooting your own code together with the team.
Beyond the core C++ development, you will have the possibility to:
Develop interfaces in Golang.
Develop motor control in C on FreeRTOS.
Collaborate closely with the electronics and mechanics teams to test and troubleshoot hardware related issues.
Take part in code reviews and contribute to improving the quality of the codebase together with the team.
Bachelor's degree with significant professional experience developing software; a Master's degree is highly desired but not essential.
Senior experience in embedded development, mainly in C++.
Experience with low level programming, sensors, and motor control.
Comfortable making technical decisions and driving development forward in collaboration with a small team in an international context.
Basic understanding of physics, for example through relevant university education.
Experience with Go programming and previous work with Linux ARM processors would be advantageous.
If you believe you match our values and have the experience we're looking for, then apply as we review applications on a rolling basis! We can't wait to hear from you!
