NOBA Bank Group • Full time • Oslo
At NOBA Bank Group, we believe that healthy finances empower individuals and society. As the Nordic region’s largest specialist bank, we offer tailored lending solutions that are sustainable for the individual, the bank and the wider community.
We are now looking for new Credit Officers to support our Nordic markets, primarily Norway, Sweden and Denmark. For the right candidates with the relevant language skills, there may also be opportunities to support the German and Finnish markets. In this role, you will make well-grounded credit decisions, champion customer satisfaction, and help us refine how we work. This is more than processing applications; it’s about safeguarding our reputation for transparency and fairness.
About the role:
As a Credit Officer, you will be part of a close-knit team of Credit Officers and a Team Manager. Together, you handle credit assessments, advise customers, and collaborate with colleagues across NOBA, including Customer Service, AML, and Fraud. You will review loan applications, manage payment files, and review credit cards and limit-increase applications. You will also contribute to developing best practices and training new team members. Your analytical work will be balanced with customer interaction, giving you a well-rounded understanding of our operations.
We are constantly evolving, and your role will evolve too. You will have the opportunity to deepen your expertise in credit and branch out into related areas such as AML, Fraud Prevention, and customer experience. NOBA culture values openness, trust and diversity. Everyone is seen, heard and respected, and we recognize that different backgrounds and perspectives enrich our workplace. You will join at a time when we’re building new processes and investing in our people, so your ideas will be heard.
Main tasks:
Assess credit applications for loans, credit cards and credit lines, and make responsible lending decisions.
Evaluate customers’ creditworthiness using data and judgement.
Handle customer inquiries related to credit applications across various channels.
Manage payment files.
Contribute to process improvements and help develop best practices.
Support onboarding and training of new colleagues.
Collaborate with other departments, including Customer Service, AML and Fraud Prevention.
We are looking for you who:
Communicate fluently in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish, as well as in English.
Have experience in banking, finance, credit assessment, or related field.
Understand the basics of credit and lending, including interest rates, risk and regulatory requirements.
Are comfortable working in multiple systems and can juggle several tasks at once.
Make decisions confidently and justify them.
It is a plus if you:
Have experience assessing credit or lending decisions in a bank or financial institution.
Hold a degree in finance, economics, or related discipline.
Have Finaut unsecured credit or credit certification.
Additional language skills in Finnish or German is considered an advantage.
To thrive and perform well in the role, we believe that you:
Are detail-oriented and structured, ensuring that every decision is consistent and well documented. You understand that credit isn’t just numbers; it’s about balancing risk with opportunity.
You take ownership of your responsibilities and are curious about improving how we work. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues and sharing knowledge.
Flexibility is essential, as our processes evolve quickly, and you adapt without losing sight of what matters.
In addition to this, it is important to us that you recognize yourself in our values: we are wholehearted, we collaborate, and we take the lead.
