About the role

As part of this role, you will play a key part in SEB’s transformation journey, helping to future‑proof one of our core enabling solutions for products and arrangements. You will join a centralized team with end‑to‑end responsibility for the development, maintenance, and support of our Product Master Data Management solution.

Our solution is business‑critical and widely used across the bank, which means you will work in close collaboration with a broad network of stakeholders from many different areas. The role offers a combination of technical ownership, collaboration, and real business impact.

You will be part of an agile team consisting of highly skilled and experienced colleagues. Together, the team takes collective responsibility for the full lifecycle of our applications, from development and continuous improvement to maintenance and support.

To succeed in this senior role, you bring:

Extensive experience in COBOL development, preferably within large‑scale financial or enterprise environments
Deep expertise in COBOL and mainframe ecosystems, including SQL, JCL, DB2, OPC, and IDz, with the ability to make sound architectural and technical decisions
A strong sense of ownership and accountability, driving the design, documentation, and development of robust, high‑quality solutions that stand the test of time
Proven experience taking end‑to‑end responsibility for the full software development lifecycle, including long‑term support, maintenance, and continuous improvement
The ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, business‑critical environment, where you support an enabling area with around 50 dependent systems. You stay calm under pressure, are adaptable, and lead by example when it’s time to roll up your sleeves
A collaborative and mentoring mindset, actively sharing knowledge and contributing to the development of colleagues and the broader team
A forward‑looking and open mindset, continuously seeking to learn, evolve, and adopt new ways of working or areas of expertise
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, allowing you to engage confidently and constructively with people across different roles, levels, and technical backgrounds. You value transparent dialogue and continuous feedback
A genuine passion for IT development, combined with strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems with a holistic perspective

As we are a multinational team, fluency in English is required, while Swedish is considered a strong advantage.
