Polarium Full time Solna

Director Information & Cyber Security

About the job

Do you want to create a smart and sustainable Future? Come join our team and get the opportunity to engineer the future! As Information Security Director, you will own and drive Polarium’s global information and cybersecurity agenda — end to end. This is not a governance-only role. You will be equally comfortable setting the strategic direction and rolling up your sleeves to implement, fix, and improve. You report directly to the EVP Legal & Compliance and are accountable for the maturity, resilience, and continuous improvement of our security posture across all markets.

You will

You will take full ownership of Polarium’s cybersecurity framework — from policy development and risk governance to hands-on implementation of controls and operational security practices. You define what needs to be done, prioritize for maximum impact, and make things happen.

Initially, you will operate without a dedicated security team, which means your ability to execute independently and work through others is essential from day one. You will work closely with our IT and OT teams, who are engaged, capable, and genuinely committed to the security agenda. Your success in the near term depends on building strong working relationships with these teams, leveraging their expertise, and creating a coordinated and effective security function together. As the role and organization mature, you will have the opportunity to build out a dedicated cybersecurity team around you.

A core part of this role is staying ahead of the regulatory landscape. You will maintain deep, current knowledge of information security and data protection legislation across the markets and regions where Polarium operates — including GDPR, NIS2, and emerging regulations in telecom, energy, and critical infrastructure sectors globally. You translate regulatory requirements into concrete, actionable programs rather than theoretical compliance exercises.

You will lead our operational security work directly — including threat monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response — ensuring we have the right processes, tools, and team capabilities in place. You review and advise on major technology decisions, cloud environments, identity management, and architecture to embed security by design from the ground up.

Supply chain security is a key priority. You will own the third-party and vendor security assessment program, ensuring partners and suppliers meet our requirements contractually and in practice.

You set KPIs, track progress, and use data to focus effort where it matters most. You are pragmatic — you distinguish between what is theoretically ideal and what will actually move the needle — and you make that trade-off clearly and deliberately.

You communicate directly and effectively with executive leadership and the Board, translating technical risk into business terms and driving informed decision-making. You are a trusted advisor who also delivers.

You have

• 6+ years of experience in Information Security, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.

• Strong GRC expertise, including GDPR, NIS2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.

• Hands-on understanding of security operations, including threat management, incident response, and vulnerability remediation.

• Broad technical knowledge across cloud security (Azure/AWS), identity management, network and application security, and modern architecture principles such as Zero Trust.

• Proven ability to execute independently and drive results without a dedicated team, working cross-functionally with IT and OT stakeholders.

• Proven experience building and leading high-performing security teams, with strong stakeholder and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical risk into clear business impact for executives and Boards.

• Relevant education and certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent practical experience.
