About the role
As a Backend Developer in our ADE (Automated Decision Engine) team, you will take end-to-end ownership of the infrastructure that powers our credit domain. You will bridge the gap between complex third-party integrations and seamless financial automation, ensuring our systems scale across multiple markets. This mission is about untangling complexity and building the "plumbing" that allows Qred to make fast, responsible lending decisions at scale.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain robust third-party integrations and internal credit-logic frameworks to automate financial decision-making.
Define and evolve our event-driven architecture, leveraging streaming data flows to enhance system responsiveness and reliability.
Drive technical projects directly with stakeholders and translate business requirements into high-quality Node.js code while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.
Implement an "Agentic Coding" approach, utilizing AI-driven development practices to increase team velocity and documentation quality.
Ensure system health by setting up proactive logging, tracing, and alerting for all products within the credit domain.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a senior-level technical mindset—someone who thrives on solving complex structural challenges and driving alignment within a small, high-impact team. You should be passionate about building scalable frameworks and eager to lead the transition toward more sophisticated, event-driven, and AI-assisted development workflows.
Qualification
Several years of experience in backend development, specifically within Fintech, Banking, or similar regulated environments.
Deep technical command of Node.js and experience building secure, scalable financial systems.
Practical knowledge of event-driven architecture.
Experience with AWS and a strong understanding of how to manage infrastructure for automated decision-making

One last thing
This is a full-time, permanent position based in our headquarters in Stockholm. While we encourage a hybrid setup, we do expect you to be at least three days per week at the office. We review applications on a rolling basis and while the start date is flexible, the right candidate can join us immediately.
