Getinge Full time Stockholm

Summer Worker

About the job

With a passion for life

Join our diverse teams of passionate people and a career that allows you to develop both personally and professionally. At Getinge we exist to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. To make a true difference for our customers – and to save more lives, we need team players, forward thinkers, and game changers.

Are you looking for an inspiring career? You just found it.

In our team Innovation & Technology we develop early concepts, prototypes and new algorithms of future products. Our work requires a deep understanding of the interaction between our devices and the patient physiology, which we explore using modelling and simulations. In this summer job you will work with physiological and device system dynamics models.

The assignment is full time during a period of 6-8 weeks, with start date in June.

What You Will Do

You will work on an already developed patient physiological model in MATLAB Simscape. Specifically, you will:

  • Structure the model by clearly separating patient profile parameters from model equations.
  • Build an intuitive graphical user interphases (GUI) to visualize results and to export the simulation results for further analysis.
  • Evaluate the scalability of the GUI to support several patient profiles and parameter sets
  • Implement features allowing real-time adjustments of simulation parameters in the GUI (sliders, input fields, toggles etc).
  • Run simulations and identify bugs or instabilities in the model.
  • Document your work.
  • Create a user guide on how to use the model/simulator and the implemented new functionalities.

The work will be carried out in our office in Solna with some possibilities to work from home.

Who You Are

We are looking for:

  • Student in pursuing an engineering degree, preferably at a master level and within (bio)medical engineering, engineering physics or similar.
  • Can start at the latest on July 1st .
  • Can work for the entire period of at least 6 weeks.
  • You take responsibility, are curious and thorough in your work.
  • You can work independently and want to learn about development of medical devices and human physiology.
  • You have basic experience with MATLAB/Simulink; experience with Simscape is a plus but not required.
