About the assignment
We are looking for a freelance Software Architect working within automotive embedded systems. In this assignment, you will play a key role in defining and shaping software architecture for complex systems, ensuring scalability, safety, and long-term maintainability.
The assignment involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders to develop robust architectural solutions aligned with industry standards and system requirements. The client operates in a technically advanced environment where innovation, compliance, and performance are central.
Your future responsibilities
In this role, the consultant will take ownership of the software architecture and act as a technical authority across the development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Define and design software architecture aligned with system requirements and project goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration
Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including interface definitions and design patterns
Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of software systems
Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE
Support system integration and validation activities
Evaluate tools, frameworks, and third-party components
Contribute to strategic technology decisions
Mentor engineers and promote best practices within software architecture
We are looking for
Requirements:
Extensive experience in software architecture within embedded systems, preferably automotive
Strong knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and frameworks
Experience working with safety-critical systems and relevant standards such as ISO 26262 and ASPICE
Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives
Experience in cross-functional collaboration and system integration
Meritorious:
Experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams
Familiarity with modern automotive software platforms and toolchains
