The Senior Infrastructure Domain Architect for the Global Infrastructure Unit is responsible for defining and governing the technical infrastructure that supports all sites across the H&M Group (stores, warehouses, offices, datacenters, cloud), digital commerce platforms, supply chain systems, and enterprise applications and operations. The role focuses on delivering a scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure environment that enables omnichannel retail experiences and operational efficiency.  

The Global Infrastructure Unit at H&M Group consists of approx. 60 people plus a large manage service delivery and spans across four delivery areas: Cloud & Datacenter, Site Tech, Network, and Digital Workplace.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Architecture & Strategy: 

  • Define and maintain the infrastructure architecture roadmap, principals, guidelines, and guardrails and ensure alignment with business strategy. 
  • Translate enterprise architecture future state vision and principles into concrete infrastructure designs and standards. 
  • Proactively and holistically lead architecture activities that guide development and management of infrastructure platforms and services.  
  • Drive the transformation of systems into hybrid or cloud-native platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS). 
  • Drive adoption of new technology and reuse existing technology for enabling capabilities and processes, information and technical solutions. 
  • Define reference architectures for third-party vendor solutions and ensure long-term fit into H&M’s architecture landscape. 

Operational excellence 

  • Architect resilient infrastructure to support critical systems, including: 
    • E-commerce platforms  
    • Point-of-Sale (POS) systems 
    • Inventory and order management systems (OMS/WMS) 
    • CRM and loyalty platforms 
  • Design infrastructure to ensure minimal downtime and fast recovery across all sites and digital platforms. 
  • Lead capacity planning for high-volume retail periods. 
  • Analyze current technology environment to identify dependencies, detect critical deficiencies and proactively recommend solutions for improvement. 
  • Define and implement monitoring, logging, and disaster recovery strategies for all infrastructure components. 
  • Work closely with DevOps, security, and IT operations teams to streamline deployments and incident response. 

Collaboration & Governance: 

  • Provide leadership and motivate teams to standardize and harmonize solutions, to lower the total cost of ownership, develop investment plans and reduce technical debt.  
  • Advice on and make architectural decisions needed to deliver targeted business outcomes. 
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure standards and governance for store rollouts, cloud deployments, and vendor integrations. 
  • Act as the primary infrastructure interface to Enterprise Architecture and business architecture teams. 
  • Mentor and coach architects and engineers in the teams, promoting their professional growth - confidently provide architectural leadership, guidance, and support for others. 

 

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • Proven experience designing and governing large-scale, global infrastructure environments. 
  • Experience applying architecture frameworks, principles, standards, and reference architectures. 
  • Ability to perform architectural trade-off analysis across cost, risk, performance, and operability. 
  • Expertise in hybrid infrastructure environments (on-prem + cloud). 
  • Familiarity with retail-specific systems such as: 
    • POS platforms  
    • ERP/WMS integrations 
    • Mobile device management for store tablets and handhelds 
  • Experience with infrastructure systems across network and hosting. 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity in a retail environment (PCI compliance, secure payment processing). 
  • Ability to design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for global retail operations. 
  • Proven experience in working strategically with third-party relationships, vendors and influencing their offerings and roadmaps. 
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to present to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 5 years in a Domain Architect role (or equivalent). 
  • Proven experience in leading architecture teams. Formal leadership training is required. 
  • Experience in a retail or e-commerce environment is highly preferred. 
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS), hosting technologies, networking, and data center technologies. 

Preferred Certifications: 

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or GCP/AWS Certified Solutions Architect 
  • TOGAF or equivalent EA framework certification 
  • Cisco, VMware, or retail technology certifications 

 

Please note: As our culture and teamwork are very important to us, four days (80%) per week of in-office presence in our office are required. 

This is a full-time position with placement in Stockholm
