Your challenge

As a Senior Accountant at Downing, you will be part of the Energy & Infrastructure team, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. You will report to the Finance Manager in Stockholm.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Accounting and financial reporting for the Nordic entities
• Preparing and ensuring the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, and ensuring accuracy from external consultants
• Ensuring accurate tax and VAT filings in accordance with local regulations (K3)
• Participating in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Collaborating with auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders, as well as presenting to the board
• Supporting the investment and finance teams in acquisitions and divestments
• Contributing to process and system improvements, including implementation of new tools
• Managing ad hoc tasks and new renewable energy assets within the portfolio

Experience

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with a degree in finance, accounting, or economics and approximately 4-5 years of relevant experience in qualified accounting and financial reporting, preferably with exposure to the Nordic market. 

You are fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, as you will collaborate closely with international teams. You have a solid understanding of taxation and preferably experience in consolidation. Strong Excel skills are required, and experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus. A background in audit is a merit, as well as experience from private equity, investment, or financial fund environments. Experience within the energy sector, infrastructure, or companies with complex group structures is an advantage, as is experience in capital markets, due diligence, or process improvement.

You are self-driven and able to prioritize between multiple tasks, yet humble and willing to contribute wherever needed. You are curious and development-oriented, always looking for opportunities to improve and drive change constructively.
