Introduction:
Thesis work is an excellent way to get closer to Traton and build relationships with industries for the future. Many of today's employees began their Scania/Traton career with their degree project.
Background:
Are you passionate about contributing to sustainability and circularity? This master's thesis project aims to enhance transparency and resolution in the lithium ion battery value chain through a good combination of literature review and simulation. The research will be conducted primarily within the Materials Technology at Traton in Sweden, in close collaboration with Volkswagen Technology Group in Germany, and academic partners.
Objective:
1.Map key material flows and processes associated with LFP lithium-ion battery supply (focusing on resource use, redistribution, and life cycle aspects).
2. Develop a simulation-based support framework for responsible supply chains of LFP lithium-ion batteries (taking into account material/resource dynamics, circularity, and scaling issues).
3. Identify data gaps and uncertainties, and provide recommendations for future developments of responsible supply chains of LFP lithium-ion batteries
Job description:
This thesis project will involve literature study, data collection, analysis, and reporting. You should have a solid understanding of the approaches of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and MFA (Material Flow Analysis), strong analytical and problem-solving and communication skills, and good digital proficiency.
