Job Responsibilities

 

As one of our colleagues are moving to new internal challenges, we are looking for a new team member within the team Project Procurement Cable harness and Sensors. At Scania project procurement we are sourcing material to the best premium heavy vehicles on the market, by contributing to introducing new functions, and updated parts, for TRATON during product development projects for trucks, buses and power solution. In the segment of cable harness and sensors, we have the important task of getting our vehicles functional, safe, and comfortable on the road by sourcing parts like cable harness, pedals, antennas, charging outlets, rain sensors etc.

 

Working within our group, you will be an important team player within several of TRATON’s ongoing product development projects, and will be involved in both prototype phase and serial introduction of the projects. As sourcing manager in the team, you will be responsible for sourcing contact housings and other parts assembled inside the cable harness, as well as sourcing systems and components including sensor functions in the vehicles. You will be the responsible contact person towards suppliers, the R&D design teams, production, logistics, finance, sales and marketing, and to our procurement colleagues on other sites and brands globally within the TRATON group.

 

 

Who You Are

 

We are looking for an experienced purchaser with the interest to source new parts to the right price, with the right quality, and in the right time for the production need. You have the confidence to challenge set ways, ability to do good business, and the flexibility to handle multiple projects in parallel. You act with integrity and professionalism and are motivated by interacting with different levels of the organization and adapting the communication appropriately. In addition, you have analytical skills, you like complex situations, are well organized, and process driven. You have an education within Economics, Engineering, Business administration or similar, and have an interest in technology and commercial issues. Hopefully you have background within the automotive industry. A plus if you have been working with cable harness or electrical components before, either within procurement, project management or technical design.

To your help you will have some great people around you to get to know the products. You will join a diverse team of nine sourcing managers from all around the world, all working within the field of cable harness and electrical components. We are working as a well-functioning team supporting and helping each other, balance workload, and have fun together. As new in the team you will get a mentor on the group, and if you are new at Scania you will get an introduction program with courses, to learn about our processes and way of working.

 

 

Me as a manager

 

For me as a manager, the most important thing is transparency, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvements, to stive to improve our daily work situation. I have 13 years’ experience within Scania project work, and several years of experience within cable harness development, where I can support you with understanding the products and cross functional processes.

 

Practical information

 

The position is situated in Södertälje, Sweden, and the position is full time. The position include business trips to suppliers and production sites both inside, and outside, of Europe. Scania is having a hybrid workplace, and at our department we are in the office at least 3 times a week.
