We have a large and varied technology platform with hundreds of systems and applications. This platform is what allows us to create new and innovative solutions for the benefit of our customers. It must be secure, efficient, updated and available for our developers. We embrace the DevOps and SRE philosophies and aim to have the platform as automated as possible. Developers should have self-service access to the platform through documentation, developer portals and guidance.  

Position Overview: Platform Engineer  

We already have an expert platform team composed of engineers, security specialists and architects. We are looking for a senior platform engineer to join this team. Over the last few years we have built an advanced multi-cloud platform where all infrastructure is automated and deployed continuously. This is only the beginning, and we intend to expand this platform considerably both in scope and capabilities. This work will go hand in hand with modernizing our applications portfolio to fit with modern platform thinking and app development. The platform engineers will be at the center of this journey, directly influencing the design.  

The person we are looking for is a developer at their core, with a passion for automation and infrastructure. We aim to solve technology and operational challenges with software development. We place high trust in our people, allowing them to figure out how best to achieve our common goals. But we do not take things on faith, so be prepared to discuss your ideas with your peers. Responsibilities  

As a senior platform engineer with us, your key responsibilities will include:  

• Contribute to and implement the design and architecture of the platform  

• Make decisions regarding methodologies, principles and tooling used in the platform  

• Contribute heavily to the code base of the platform itself  

• Design features based on feedback from application developers  

• Ensure all non-functional requirements like security and operability are met  

• Help plan and prioritize the team’s work through our agile framework  

• Research and learn about new technologies and concepts, develop and implement them, to further advance our platform  

Qualifications  

If you are interested in this position you must be an expert coder with a strong interest in platform engineering. Things happen fast and changes occur all the time, so you must be comfortable in such circumstances. You have to be curios, open minded and enjoy working in a team. It is important that you are not only creative in coming up with new solutions, but are also able to plan and deliver those solutions, bringing them from idea to production. Communication in English, both written and spoken, is also important, as you will have to build relationships with many parts of our organization. Ability to understand and speak Swedish is a clear advantage. One sure thing is that stuff will break, so you must be a good problem solver too.
