SAS Duty Planning is a function within the Maintenance Operation Control department (STOMO-C), part of the SAS CAMO organization.
The main purpose of Duty Planning is to ensure the airworthiness of the SAS aircraft fleet by planning, controlling, and following up on maintenance events to Part-145 (Maintenance Production). This role also includes various operational responsibilities related to airworthiness control in a dynamic and operative environment.
In this key role, you will act as an interface between SAS CAMO and both internal and external Part-145 organizations. You will be part of AOG coordination and handle all AOG situations related to the planning and control of affected scheduled maintenance events.
Furthermore, you will:
• Be mainly responsible for securing the accomplishment of Airworthiness Directives (AD) within the defined time interval
• Seek opportunities to plan proactive maintenance, especially in relation to repetitive defects, in cooperation with the STOMO-C group
• Ensure all ordered maintenance is cost-effective, performed at minimum cost while maximizing available ground time
• Handle various mandatory documents according to regulations and SAS procedure requirements
• Establish clear handovers to ensure clarity and continuity of ongoing maintenance plans
• This position involves several time-critical and operationally significant tasks, such as:
• Monitoring, controlling, and securing the 72-hour short-term maintenance plan in relation to fleet operations and Part-145 agreements (internally and externally through Line Maintenance)
• Being responsible for short-term maintenance checks and the planning of unscheduled or deferred maintenance in line with aircraft operations
• Managing the re-scheduling of maintenance events when deviations from the original plan occur (Job drop/Re-planning)
• Ensuring maintenance is performed and CRS (Certificate of Release to Service) is issued within the allocated ground stop duration
• Keeping the Maintenance Forecast updated and accurate at all times
• Knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance programs, ATL, MEL, JIC, AD, EO and their use.
• Good knowledge of civil aviation regulations, including EASA Part M and Part 145.
• Good understanding of, or actual work experience within, aircraft maintenance facilities and production processes (P-145).
• Proven experience in identifying and developing continuous business improvements.
• Education or solid knowledge of regulative aircraft maintenance planning related to ETOPS, CDCCL, Critical Tasks, and Human Factors (HF).
• Education and/or experience with AMOS and other supported maintenance/operational surveillance systems.
• Experience of the aircraft operated by SAS, ideally at Gen Fam level.
• Computer proficiency in general, and in MS Office in particular.
• Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably in at least one Scandinavian language.
• Preferably experience of aircraft operation in relation to aircraft maintenance.
• Preferably previous experience in heavy aircraft line maintenance planning.
