We are now looking for our next colleague, a driven and proactive Record-to-Report (R2R) and General Accounting (GA),  to join the Group Accounting Operations & Shared Services Centre Team, part of Polestar Global Finance.

The Opportunity 

As a Process Developer in R2R and GA, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of Group Accounting Operations and our Shared Services Centre. Your mission? To drive globally standardized processes, enhance Shared Service Centers operating procedures, and develop cutting-edge strategies that future-proof our finance and accounting operations.

In this role, you’ll work across a variety of R2R and GA sub-processes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of reports that empower business leaders with critical insights. You’ll collaborate closely with the Global Process Owner for R2R and our Shared Service Centers to refine and optimize accounting processes.

Shape the Future of Global Finance:

• Drive innovation and standardization in Record-to-Report (R2R) & General Accounting (GA) processes within Shared Services Centers.
• Continuously refine and enhance accounting operations for efficiency and scalability.

 Own the Process & Elevate Performance

• Oversee documentation and process improvements for seamless workflows.
• Support business teams with R2R & GA-related tasks, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Develop and enhance process flow documentation to drive operational clarity.

 Collaborate & Deliver Impact

• Partner with Regions (Business/CFO/CAO), Finance Peers, and GAOS Partners (GAD) to ensure top-tier service delivery.
• Co-drive joint operating rhythms—tracking KPIs, budgets, SLAs, and customer satisfaction.

Optimize & Standardize for Excellence

• Work closely with Global Process Owners (GPOs) to streamline work processes and align with industry benchmarks.
• Establish robust systems to ensure policy and process adherence.

Focus on Execution & Long-Term Vision

• Deliver measurable results today while paving the way for sustainable, best-in-class financial operations.

Streamlining for Growth & Efficiency

• Standardize & Optimize – Establish a structured approach for deploying operational processes with clearly defined owners, responsibilities, and measurable KPIs. This will support the setup of Polestar’s business units, Finance HQ functions, and Shared Services Center partnerships.
• Drive Digital Transformation – Collaborate with Polestar business units and Polestar Digital Finance to enhance system capabilities and automate R2R and GA processes for greater efficiency and scalability.

The Ideal Candidate 

We are looking for an open-minded and proactive team player who has great communication skills, to be able to connect and collaborate with different functions and stakeholders. In addition, you should have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable taking and driving your own initiatives.

At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Since Polestar’s in a scale-up phase you thrive by working in a fast-paced environment.

To be a great fit for this position we believe you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Preferred experience in Continuous Process Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Agile, along with expertise in flowchart mapping.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in Record-to-Report (R2R) and General Accounting (GA), gained through external audit, accounting, or project management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly finance modules.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles.
• Experience in process development and/or project management is a plus.
•  Working knowledge of financial compliance, including taxation, VAT, and the key differences between local GAAP and IFRS.
